Cartoons.
The cartoons of the 90s were something that have been repeated over and over again in the 2000s but for some reason they aren't as captivating to my mind. The cartoons in the 90s had humor that went over my head and now I look back on it and I am like wow, that was really inappropriate. As a child you look at things in a way that you understand you don't know if things are like that in real life, but to you that what how they were. Little girls were made from sugar, spice, and everything nice. Super heroes were real. Turtles lived in the sewers and ate pizza, and were ninjas. The idea of the wider world was something that was beyond the scope of your imaginations. But cartoons, you went to the fantastic every day in your favorite cartoon whether it be with "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," or "Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends," Those things didn't happen in real life. Ninjas didn't try and destroy new york, imaginary friends aren't physical beings, you couldn't put little monsters into balls and call them out to play with you and battle. Cartoons are a source of being exposed to things that won't ever happen to you but will always feel like it because you were engaged.
